VASER BBL

Offered at our convenient location in Newport Beach, CA

VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction is a revolutionary technique that utilizes ultrasound waves to help remove unwanted fat and sculpt the body. This minimally invasive procedure is used to provide slimmer contours in the midsection, arms, legs, and buttocks. A VASER Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) involves the harvesting of fat deposits from these areas of stubborn fat and transferring them to the buttocks. This is a more effective variation of a BBL that can recreate a natural-looking, feminine backside with more projection and curves.

With the expertise and meticulous approach of Dr. Ali Tehrani, you can experience all the transformative benefits of a VASER BBL. Dr. Tehrani’s expertise and artistry are at work with each and every patient. About VASER Brazilian Butt Lifts

A BBL is performed using liposuction techniques in order to harvest the fat from areas where fat is often resistant to diet and exercise; the midsection. Once it is collected and purified, it is reinjected into the buttocks, a process called fat grafting or fat transfer. The procedure can promote the most attractive waist-to-hip ratio for women, increasing their sense of body confidence.

Today, fat grafting to the buttocks is one of the top five most popular cosmetic procedures today, and the number of BBLs performed has risen 61% since 2014! (1) When VASER is utilized, the surgeon can leave behind a thin layer of fat that accentuates muscular definition, an added benefit of precise ultrasound technology.

Are BBLs Safe?

Due to its popularity, many questions surrounding the safety of the BBL have been raised. Luckily, the news is good- multiple new surgical guidelines have been able to reduce the risk of complications. A group known as the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation conducted research on how to improve the safety profile of the BBL.

For example, they recommend a certain diameter and size for the cannula, the long, thin instrument used to suction fat. They also found that using it at a specific angle within the body and using a specific speed of extraction makes the process much safer. Most importantly, they’ve developed guidelines to inform surgeons of the safest areas and depths for the fat transfer itself. (2) Well-informed surgeons like Dr. Tehrani stay up-to-date on the latest research concerning BBLs and many other cosmetic procedures.

Benefits of VASER BBL

With Dr. Tehrani’s expertise and precision, you can enjoy numerous benefits that come with this innovative technique:

  • You can achieve a slimmer, more toned midsection.
  • VASER boasts a lower complication rate than standard liposuction. (3)
  • Minimal sutures are required.
  • Buttock enhancement is accomplished using your own fat, a biocompatible tissue that looks and feels all-natural.
  • The scars are well-hidden and only a fraction of an inch.
  • The results can be permanent if they are maintained with diet and exercise.

Candidates for a VASER BBL

Ideal candidates for VASER BBL are those who have realistic expectations for the procedure and are in good overall health. A consultation with Dr. Tehrani is essential to determine if you are suitable for this innovative technique. It is important to note that VASER BBL is not a weight loss procedure, but rather a body contouring technique. Candidates should be at a stable weight and have adequate fat deposits available for harvesting. Dr. Tehrani will customize the procedure to your unique anatomy and desired results.

Personal Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Tehrani will take the time to understand your unique concerns and goals. He will carefully assess your medical history and perform a detailed examination of the areas you wish to target with VASER liposuction.

Dr. Tehrani will evaluate the quality of your skin elasticity, the amount of excess fat present, and the underlying musculature to determine if a VASER BBL is the most suitable treatment for you. He will also discuss alternative options if necessary, ensuring that you are fully informed about all potential solutions. To get started today, calling (949) 867-6806 or requesting a consultation through our online form. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Preparation

VASER BBL results are the best when patients take the right preparation steps. Dr. Tehrani may require a few blood tests and evaluate your overall health. He will also require that you stop taking blood thinners like alcohol, aspirin, anti-inflammatories, and herbal supplements a couple of weeks before your appointment. This will prevent the risk of bleeding during the surgery or excessive bruising while recovering. You should also avoid smoking for at least 4 to 6 weeks to allow your body to work and heal optimally.

Next, you should set up your home to be comfortable and easy to navigate. You may want to stock up on over-the-counter medications, extra pillows, and loose clothing that’s easy to change in and out of. It may be helpful to prepare easy meals so that you don’t overexert yourself during the first couple of days. Keep in mind that you’ll need about 2 weeks of downtime, so arranging for a friend or family member to help you out may be incredibly beneficial.

VASER BBL Procedure Steps

Dr. Tehrani will begin the procedure by giving you general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation to ensure maximum comfort. A BBL without general anesthesia is considered an “awake” BBL in which you will be aware of the activities around you; it’s a completely safe and effective way of undergoing a BBL. (4)  Dr. Tehrani will start by injecting the tumescent fluid into the abdomen, hips, or thighs. The lidocaine serves to numb the tissue, while the epinephrine constricts blood vessels and makes the fat dense.

Next, Dr. Tehrani will make a small incision in order to access the subcutaneous layer with the VASER device. The device will apply vibrating ultrasound waves that work to fragment and emulsify the fat, allowing for more accurate sculpting with the following device, the cannula. Within the same incision, he will insert the cannula and begin to suction the fat using a violin-playing-like motion.

Once an adequate amount of fat is harvested, he will purify it in a machine called a centrifuge. He will then load the contents of the centrifuge into individual syringes and target specific areas of the buttocks to provide even, harmonious enhancement and projection. Finally, Dr. Tehrani will close the incisions with a few sutures and wrap both the VASER treatment area and your backside with the appropriate surgical dressings. It is typically completed within a 2-hour period.

Recovery and Results

After your procedure, you’ll need someone to drive you home. You will be given a compression garment that will work to reduce swelling and discomfort over the course of several weeks. For your first 2 weeks, you should avoid sitting and lying on your back, as this may affect your new contours. Instead, opt to lie on your side and place weight on your thighs. A few days post-procedure, you’ll be able to take light walks to get healthy blood flow through your body, but avoid anything remotely strenuous. Although you’ll notice immediate volume after one month, your contours will continually adjust over the next several months, leading to permanent results!

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

BodyTite

For patients who want a skin-tightening effect, BodyTite can be paired with VASER liposuction to provide a more comprehensive cosmetic makeover. Once inserted subcutaneously, the device emits radio frequency (RF) energy, a type of thermal energy that liquefies fat and causes the increased production of collagen in the skin. (5) BodyTite can be used during a VASER BBL procedure, a standard liposuction without fat transfer, or by itself. If you need a minimally invasive procedure to rejuvenate the skin from within and correct mild laxity, inquire with Dr. Tehrani about what BodyTite can accomplish for you.

Cost of VASER BBL

When determining the cost of your VASER BBL procedure, we take into account various factors such as the complexity of the treatment, the amount of fat to be removed and transferred, the desired outcome, and any additional procedures.

At Tehrani Plastic Surgery, we understand that pricing is an important consideration when it comes to making decisions about your aesthetic goals. After your evaluation, Dr. Tehrani will provide you with an accurate estimate for your BBL. We also offer CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit for all patients interested in other financing options.
